Greek-
Aphrodite- The goddess of fertility, love, beauty and protectress of sailors. Hesoid, a poet, said that she was born from sea foam, and Homer says she is the daughter of Zeus and Dione. When Paris, a Trojan Prince was Asked to judge a which Olympian goddess was most beautiful he choose Aphrodite over Hera and Athena. She promised him love, Helen of Sparta. In the Trojan war Hera and Athena were enemies of Paris, but Aphrodite stayed loyal to Paris and the Trojans. 
Ares- God of war. He was handsome and cruel. He was the son of Zeus. Ares Olympian Throne was said to be covered in human skin. He was bested in battle by Hercales, almost killed when he was stuffed into a jar by two giants, and wounded by another hero during the Trojan war he recieved scant sympathy from his father.

Egypt-
Aken- The god of the Dead. he was a ferryman at night and took the newly dead to the great beyond.He steered the oar and took care of the last and most improtant journey to the Egyptians. He let those who had died pass along to their next life. He was from Letopoli, capital of province number two in lower Egypt.
Bat- An old goddess of fertility. She was depicted as a cow, woman or a human face with horns and cow ears. She is sometimes seen in the stars. In the Middle Kingdom she was superseded by Hathor. Hathor then took over her characters and personal regalia. She is seen in art and in amulets for protection.
Hindu-
Kurma- The second turtoise- incarnation of Lord Vishnu. Mount Manadara was used as a churning stick, it began to sink into the ocean bed. This is what mahe Lord Vishnu assume the form of the turtoise. Kurma represents the development of life, when you can breathe and walk out of the water developed. 
Brahma- Known as the Creator. He alters light and dark. In order to create the world and produce the human race, Brahma made himself half woman and half man. His woman side was known as Gayatri. Brahama used to have five heads, but now only has four. Gayatri was ashamed of Brahma's love for her and she tried to escape from his gaze. The tapas that he had practiced for the creation of the world was annihilated because of his desire to be with his daughter, Gayatri. His fith head was lost when he lied to Vishnu, which made Shiva very angry.

Aztec-
Tonatiuh- The sun god. Was seen as the primary source of life. Warriors were his special devotees, they gave the sun sacrifical victims. It was said that the light the sun gave was a gift. In order to get light from the sun, warriors gave the sun human sacrifices.
Chantico- The Domestic goddess of homes and the Domestic hearth fires. She protects everything precious and very protective of her own treasures. Her accessories are red serprents and she has a crown that is made of poisin cactus spikes. She symbolizes a combination of pleasure and pain. During a fast there was a ban on paprika, Chantico ate it and was then turned into a dog. She was turned into a dog by Tonacatechutli, the god of food. 
Japan-
God Izanagi and Goddess Izanami- Izanagi and Izanami were married. Izanami gave birth to anything, one day she gave birth to Japan. Izanami died during her labor to the god of fire. Izanagi was lost without his wife Izanami. He went to look for her in the underworld. Wehn he got into the underworld they found eachother. Izanami told Izanagi not to look at her, but he did. Izanami was in an appaling condition which scared Izanagi. He then ran out and blocked the entrance so that his wife could not enter.
Seiobo- "The mother of the west". Seiobo cultivates peach trees that grow every one thousand years. If one was to eat one of the peaches they would recieve eternal life.
China-
Kwan Yin- The goddess of compassion and mercy. She was murdered by her own father. When she arrived to the under world she recited the holy books. The ruler of the under world could not make any of the souls suffer because of this. She was then sent back up to the land of the living by the god. She attained great spritual insight and was awarded with immortality by Buddha. 
Ch'Eng - Huang- The god of walls and moats. In everytown there is a Ch'Eng-Huang. A Ch'Eng-Huang is an important person who died in the town is then promoted to godhood. He protects the city from attacks and makes sure that the Death God does not take any of the souls from the city. He also exposes the evil-doers in the city.
